Jeffrey received his BA in Business Administration from the University of Washington in 1987. After a career in hotel management, Jeffrey went to law school in Los Angeles and obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Southwester University School of Law in 1995. Jeffrey's law practice is focused primarily on civil matters, including business and contract disputes, as well as domestic partnership matters. Currently, Jeffrey sits on the Board of Directors for the ONE National Gay and Lesbian Archives, which is the world's largest collection of LGBT literary, educational, historical, and cultural materials and resources. Jeffrey has previously served on the Boards of Directors for the Lesbian and Gay Lawyers Association of Los Angeles as well as the International Lesbian and Gay Law Association
