Before the formation of the LA Leather coalition, the Mr. LA Leather contest was already in existance. Mr. LA Leather 1999, William Shindler, created the Los Angles Leather Coalition. From that year forward, LA only sent one contestant to IML, chosen from the men who held titles from that year.
